University of the Sciences Athletic Training
THE STAFF
The University of the Sciences
Athletic Training staff supports the medical needs of all varsity
athletes. The staff features a full-time National Athletic
Trainers' Association (NATA) certified and Pennsylvania licensed
athletic trainer, along with two part-time certified trainers who
are on campus for all events and in some cases travel with the
teams for away contests.
The Sports Medicine staff is complimented by Dr. Rahul Kapur, M.D. and Dr. Brian Sennett, M.D, who are affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania. The athletic department also employs students who are paid an hourly work-study rate to assist the athletic training staff during the school year.
SPORTS MEDICINE ELIGIBILITY
The NCAA mandates that all athletes must have a yearly medical
examination prior to competing in any supervised or scheduled game,
practice or conditioning session. The personal information /
insurance, medical history and physical examination forms must be
on file in the athletic training room in order for the athlete to
be eligible.
All athletes are required to complete the appropriate Athletic Department Medical Information Packet listed below. Incoming student-athletes will complete the incoming student packet while returning athletes, transfers and non-first year walk-ons will complete the returning student packet.
