The Sports Medicine staff is complimented by Dr. Rahul Kapur, M.D. and Dr. Brian Sennett, M.D, who are affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania.  The athletic department also employs students who are paid an hourly work-study rate to assist the athletic training staff during the school year.

The mission of the University of the Sciences Athletic Training staff is to help prevent athletic injuries from occurring by assisting in the conditioning of the student-athletes, and monitoring existing conditions.  In the event of injury the athletic training staff will evaluate injuries on the field or court, determine the extent of injury and plan for treating the injury.  When necessary the athletic trainer will refer the athlete to the team’s orthopedic physician or work through the student-athlete's orthopedic or family physician (s) for continuation of treatment.  The athletic trainer will work with the orthopedic physician in rehabilitating the athlete's injury through to their full return to activity.
