PHILADELPHIA – The University of the Sciences men's basketball team led in the first half and trailed by just six at the break, before Daemen pulled away early in the second en route to an 83-57 win over the Devils at Bobby Morgan Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing by as many as seven, 20-13, midway through the first, USciences scored the next seven points to even the score on Jordan White's 3-pointer with 6:56 to go in the half.
After Daemen responded with five straight points of its own, this the Devils scored eight unanswered to take its first and only lead, 28-25, on Javon Gordon's 3-pointer 4:08 ahead of the break.
Again the Wildcats had an answer, closing the half with 11 of the final 13 points to take a 36-30 advantage into the locker room.
They would carry that momentum into the second, holding USciences scoreless for the first 5:33 while scoring the half's first 17 points to put the game out of reach.
