Mazurek Wins at Undefeated District of Columbia on Wednesday

WASHINGTON D.C. – Stephanie Mazurek won at No. 2 singles to highlight the University of the Sciences women's tennis team's trip to undefeated District of Columbia (6-0) on Wednesday. 

The sophomore now leads the Devils with five singles victories on the year after coming back from dropping the first set, 2-6, to take the second 6-3. Her opponent retired with Mazurek up 1-0 in the third set.

Myra Anwar was on the wrong side of a three-setter at No. 4 singles, falling 8-10 in a super tiebreaker after she had taken the first set 7-5.  

University of the Sciences returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play when it travels to Dominican for a 12 p.m. match at Manny Welder Park in Monsey, N.Y. this Saturday, Oct. 5.
